What’s the change between autism and Asperger’s syndrome? What do they have in common? That’s a wonder the present concerns various people. Autistic Asperger
Asperger’s syndrome and autism are both on the spectrum of Autism Disorder which also includes Rett’s Disorder, Childhood Disintegrative Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified, etc. All these types of autism disorder present at least some of those symptoms: echolalia (repeating words said by others), abnormal social behavior, restricted range of interest, poor motor coordination and self-stimulating behavior.
Asperger’s syndrome is a mild form of autism. People suffer asperger’s don’t have communication delays as people with other forms of autism have, they function relatively well in terms of intelligence and social functions, and they often manage to go to school, graduate from colleges and live independently. Asperger’s syndrome is a specific type of “high-functioning autism”(HFA), which is characterized by poor social skills, advanced and overly formal language, and extensive, pervasive interest in a specific subject. It’s said that geniuses and people with asperger’s share same characteristics, because they both have narrow interests and are more focused and persistent on what they are doing than normal people. Many geniuses showed asperger’s traits, for example, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, George Orwell and H G Wells. It is widely said that the president of United States, George W. Bush, suffered from asperger’s syndrome too. Autistic Asperger
Both Asperger’s and Autism are subgroups of a larger diagnostic category called Autistic Spectrum Disorders(ASD), people can be affected by the disorder very differently form others. Don’t let your love ones suffer anymore! Lead them out through Autistic Asperger program now!

Rett syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder that is classified as a pervasive developmental disorder by the DSM-IV. Many argue that this is a misclassification just as it would be to include such disorders as fragile X syndrome, tuberous sclerosis, or Down syndrome where one can see autistic features. The symptoms of this disorder are most easily confused with those of Angelman syndrome and autism. The clinical features include a deceleration of the rate of head growth (including microcephaly in some) and small hands and feet. Stereotypic, repetitive hand movements such as mouthing or wringing are also noted. Symptoms of the disorder include cognitive impairment and problems with socialization, the latter during the regression period. Socialization typically improves by the time they enter school. Girls with Rett syndrome are very prone to gastrointestinal disorders and up to 80% have seizures. They typically have no verbal skills, and about 50% of females are not ambulatory. Scoliosis, growth failure, and constipation are very common and can be problematic.
Help answer the question about Rett Syndrome
rett syndrome?Hi all>
Im doing some research on the genetic disorder Rett Syndrome (RS) & I am looking for some first hand accounts of the early stages
Ive frequented IRSF & MANY other rett syndrome pages but I am really looking for some information from people who have dealt with it on a hands on basis>
My biggest area of interest/curiosity is about the first "signs"
what were your first clues that something wasnt right
was it drawn out or did it just seem to happen overnight

If I were you I would stick to facts about autism and not rumors. There are plenty of diagnosed, wonderful people. Spielberg and Akroyd diagnosing themselves is about as valid as you diagnosing yourself. Please, if you are going to represent these people, do it with respect and do not spread rumors. It might make great theater, but it is too serious a topic to treat lightly.
i'm not from where you are asking cos i live south london just stopped by to wish you luck in finding somebody with aspegers. i was given this dignoise about 5 years ago i hope you find what you are looking for. good luck
My big sis (Maria, 21) has rett, i pray everyday for cure, i love her so much.
When Martin Luther King Jr. went out to spread his message-it was a message of equality for ALL, not just African Americans. The NAACP is legal but the NAAWP isn't? I'm about as far from racist as you can get too-but because I am white and talk about these things, I'm constantly called such.
Equality is for ALL. I don't want my own channels, nor do I think anyone else should either. I don't want organizations that only take white people, nor do I want anyone else to deny me entrance into theirs based on my skin color. Is that so racist? To state that such groups are merely self-segregation?
Honestly…do you really think this is what MLK had in mind?
I don't call you N***** so don't call me C******. Is that fair enough?
Unfortunately, you won't find many in agreement on either side of the issue. White people dread being called racist so much that they will attack you. African Americans see that you are white and use that as a means to attack you for saying that we should be equal. No wonder the Civil Rights movement has gone backwards-one side has cowered in fear, the other has gotten militant. Only a few on both sides are brave enough to say, "Yes, we should be EQUAL, and separating ourselves is no way to do it." are doing any service, yet are cast to the wolves.
Enough is enough.

My own analysis of the two major groups-
Whites
Fear of being called racist keeps them from speaking out against self-segregation by other groups. The fear is such that they would LIE to others about what they really believe, and join in with those descending upon the brave person who states the truth-that self segregation is NOT a means to equality!
African Americans
Perpetual victim mentality is largely to blame here. Look around! Many in the African American community have risen above their situation by sheer will power-as can you! DON'T rely on the pride crushing assistance from groups that seek to self-segregate your community! Pick yourself up, and rise above your situation-your success or failure is YOURS and no one else! Victim mentality only perpetuates your own self loathing and hatred, and it gets you nowhere.

Nicolae-That's something ONLY a person who does not suffer from those things can say. You are heartless, careless and arrogant to belittle someone because they have a disorder or disease that is DOCUMENTED and Medically accepted as something that needs to be treated and a cure found for. That's disgusting of you to say that.
There is a difference. A person with Aspergers Syndrome has a neurological difference in their brain. It is the mild end of the autism spectrum.
A person who is a "Nerd/Geed" may have Aspergers Syndrome or they may simply be absorbed with their computers etc.
Einstein was certainly autistic. His brain as been preseved. Edison, Gates, Da Vinci, Van Gogh etc are all people who may have been or may be (in the case of Gates) autistic but no one knows for sure.
Typically if you take a "Nerd/Geek" out of the environment and force them to participate in a social event they can do it with a little practice (some have no trouble at all).
The person with AS will not read social cues and will have great difficulty interacting and communicating because of it.
That said, many people with AS do gravitate towards jobs with technology. NASA is referred to with the autism community as "Spectrum Central" thought I doubt many have been offically diagnosed. The higher the AS person fucntions, the harder it is too tell but in general, there is a difference and it is how the brain is hard wired.
It is also true that some people who are "Nerds/Geeks" will tell people they have AS when they have never had a real diagnosis and are "self diagnosed". A person with true AS will need a doctors diagnosis to tell the difference.
I am passionate about those "self diagnosed people" talking for the autism community.
As for the person who said they were a high school principal, perhaps you might like to know that the sucide rate for people with AS is high and one of the reasons cited is being laughed at. I am sure if you truly are a high school principal (which I hope to God is not true) that you would show a little more compassion or are you just wanting to have students that are a bit different kill themsleves. Would you "laugh your ass off" when their parents find them hanging in their bedrooms because they can't make sense of the social world around them? Truly pathetic if its true.
The only difference between autistic children and 'regular' children is that autistic children see the world differently. Autistic children form friendships and fall in love, just like anyone else. It's just more difficult.
Most schools are equipped to deal with children with autism. Autism has various degrees. Some autistic children even attend regular classes.
Sometimes, mental retardation and autism go hand in hand, however, there are just as many autistic children with average or better intelligence.
Currently, there is no cure for autism, and brain surgery seems unlikely.
My advice for you is to research this thoroughly before writing. You clearly have little to no experience with autistic children, and you should never write about something you don't understand. You can easily offend people that way.
